I purchased this from an antique jewelry shop in France.This is a dormeuse design, where the hook is passed from behind the earlobe to the front and then attached to the hole in the motif.This type is cushy to wear even while sleeping, and is also known as a sleeper earring.It has elaborate decorations and openwork on the sides, indicating a handcrafted construction. However, there are some damages such as dents and discoloration, which is reflected in the price.Metal: 18k (Hallmark: Horse head, indicating 18k or higher in France)※ The horse head hallmark was only used in France between 1838 and 1919, making jewelry with this mark very rare.Estimated age: Circa 1880※ This listing is for the earrings only. No certificate of authenticity or box is included.※ I have worn these a few times myself, and there were no issues with wearing them. However, the looseness or tightness of the hardware is subjective.Also, as these are quite old, there are damages such as distortion and discoloration.Please check the photos for details on the condition, as they are not ideal.
