LECA is an acronym that stands for "lightweight expanded clay aggregate." They are little balls of clay used in place of soil for houseplants and commonly used in hydroponic gardening. LECA allows water to be absorbed directly to the root without suffocating them. LECA also keeps pests appreciate Aphids & fungus gnats away because it doesn't contain any live organisms. Its also less messy than soil & requires less storage space!
