Pearl's Garden quilt PATTERN makes a 54 x 60 quilt using a combination of appliqué, piecing, and embroidery techniques. The finished quilt is a bountiful harvest of vegetables and herbs that's outstanding as a kitchen quilt or a gift for your favorite gardener. The background blocks are pieced in an offset setting with squares and rectangles. There are twelve 9 x 12 vegetable and herbs blocks and four 6 x 9 blocks with herbs and insects. Each of the large blocks combines appliqué vegetable, embroidery herb, and inked lettering. The smaller blocks have appliqué insects, embroidery herb, and inked lettering. The quilt is assembled in vertical rows, giving it a surprising diagonal setting.
